Isaiah 21:15 Meaning and Commentary

Isaiah 21:15

For they fled from the swords
Of their enemy, whom they could not withstand; perhaps the Assyrian army: from the drawn sword;
just ready to be sheathed in them: and from the bent bow;
just going to let the arrow fly at them: and from the grievousness of war:
too heavy for them to bear.

16 This is what the Lord says to me: “Within one year, as a servant bound by contract would count it, all the splendor of Kedar will come to an end.
17 The survivors of the archers, the warriors of Kedar, will be few.” The LORD, the God of Israel, has spoken.
